Lessons and Lesson Categories: Your Options

On Hablah, one hour (60 min) of class time is called a lesson. Lessons are in most cases “standalone” or independent.  But some lessons are grouped together and form a “short course”, or even a “long course”.

We’ll send you our pdf catalog: use it to choose your free first lesson! The information is of course here also; but our catalog contains an extra discount code—so even your second lesson can be at a reduced price!

So lessons on Hablah are organized into three lesson categories:

•  Standalone Lesson (or SA): it’s 1 lesson that stands on its own. It’s self-contained: not dependent on other lessons in any way.
•  Short Course (or SC): it’s a group of lessons (for example, 4 lessons) that are slightly dependent on one another, in content.
•  Long Course (or LC): also a group of lessons, these take place over months and are clearly interdependent on one another.

In all cases, a key point to emphasize is this: all lessons (both “Standalone” and those that are part of “Short” and “Long” courses) are open for anyone to reserve and attend!

In other words: though you may want to keep those lesson categories in mind, on Hablah you can reserve a seat for any lesson that takes place any day—from any lesson category! Our groups and lessons really are open!

Now, let’s find out more about each lesson category, and see what lessons or courses each one contains.

Standalone Lessons

Fully flexible, a Standalone Lesson can be taken even if you only have one free hour for Spanish today—or whenever! Every SA works on its own, so you won’t feel you’ve missed anything vital from previous days!

Short Courses

A Short Course can be especially good if you know you have the same free time slot several days—but even if you don’t: you can probably just come along for any single lesson, and still be able to follow well!

Long Courses

We also have two Long Courses, that run for some months and consist of interconnected lessons. The content is linear and cumulative, as we take you step by step through a full study program.

Testimonials

Here’s what students had to say about Alfonso, your teacher at Hablah:

Wow, what an incredible first lesson! I read the reviews and they are true. Alfonso is an incredibly solid teacher, patient and good at explaining items. He understands how to explain things multiple ways. I’m impressed with his ability and appreciate how he is extremely prepared, and stays positive.

Josh

Alfonso is entertaining and at the same time very knowledgeable. He knows how to make the student understand the various aspects of Spanish language. After studying with Alfonso I have understood better many things in Spanish […]. I would recommend him for any serious learner.

Abhilash A.

As a teacher, Alfonso is very understanding and has so much patience. His lessons have been very explanatory to me: they helped me to understand the language better. Something I would highlight is his teaching method, which creates an atmosphere of friendship between teacher and student.
